the debate was settled for me- i just bough the PS2 version tonight- in addition to DTS, the game featured "anamorphic" as a screen selection: VERY COOL.

And actually, I thought the DTS was pretty neat as well. a center channel would be nice, but oh well. Does the gamecube version feature the same amount of DVD content?

Damn; I really wish the cube version of this game wasn't a rushed port. Oh well, at least this will encourage to use all my systems, instead of concentrating on one...

As for Tricky on GCN being easier, that's also apparent on the PS2 version as well. Part of it is due to the fact that we've all played SSX to death by now and are well familiar with the controls, and part of it is that the game is just programmed to be easier.

My verdict, having played both: if you own a PS2 or an XBox, there is no reason to get the GCN version as it is a technically inferior product and was not designed for the system or controller. That having been said...

I own a GCN only, and bought SSX Tricky, and have played the HECK out of it. Framerates and DTS aside, this game _rocks_, no matter what platform you're looking at. Don't let the "port syndrome" prevent you from getting this title if you've only got a GCN. It's still SSX, and it's still loads of fun.
