I just upgraded from a Technics 930 A/V receiver to a Marantz SR5200 last month. I'm using the same JBL speakers, THX181 mains, Flix20 center, & D38 rears connected in the same way. The problem is even with the volume turned all the way down I get a loud pop or boom from the speakers when I turn on the receiver. Everything seems to be connected properly and nothing like this happened with the old receiver. If anyone has an idea what the problem might be or a fix to solve it let me know.

Greg,
Is there a feature on this particular receiver where you
can go into the setup and have it so that when it's turned
on the volume is set to minumum or a particular number?
I set my Onk 787 to turn on at 4db I could set it to turn
on with the volume completly at zero or anywhere in between.
If the popping sound still rears it's ugly head even when
the volume is at 0db or -70 or whatever your readout may be
then I would say the amplifier section of said receiver does
not have an anti pop circuit. Cheaper car stereo amps usualy
do this. I can't fathom any Marantz product being "cheap"
though!

I went through the manual and the on screen menus but no volume settings. The bottom shows as -75dB on the display and there is no sound until I turn up the volume. I'm wondering about the grounding.
