Has anyone had a chance to purchase this to give a review or at least a chance to demo it?I'm told that it has some ES parts in it.

That would be the definition of the DB series. Most of the amp section and construction of ES, with more or less the "guts" (boards & components) of the DE series. The previous DB series sounded pretty much exactly like the DE series, but with much more clean power.
If you are looking to spend that much, you should consider looking at Marantz, Denon or Onkyo in that price range.
