I have been considering buying a KV-36HS510 for a while now. I'm about to get my ent. center to put it on. So my purchase will be soon(tomorrow or next day).
However, thanks to some info. from this forum I'm now considering the 2005 model KV-36HS420. But when I looked at the sony website I noticed a few differences. One is purely the dimensions. How can they both be 4:3 36" screens but the 2005 KV-36HS420 be 7" shorter and 10" less in width than the KV-36HS510. I am getting 2 different size measurments from the SONY web page [ Dimensions: 39 1/8" x 30 5/8" x 25" & Dimensions: 30 7/8" x 23 5/8" x 20 1/2" ]. Do they offer a widescreen and a 4:3 version of this set?
Also, the KV-36HS420 doesn't have PIP although I would most likely not use this feature since I would wind up using the cable company remote that goes with the HD receiver. My primary concern is the screen size and TV dimensions. Can any one shed any light on this or does anyone own a KV-36HS420.
In addition, are there any stores that carry this model locally so I can view it. I assume it has the same pic quality as the KV-36HS510. However, I think I would prefer the KV-36HS420 since it is a newer model, only one tone(silver), and is cheaper.
Sorry to ramble but I just want to make sure I make a wise purchase and the information one can obtain from this forum never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks
