slot port for adire audio kit281 (1 Viewer)

hello everyone i'm thinking about doing a slot port instead of a port tube for the adire kit281. would this work just as well as the port tube? i'm thinking a 1" tall 7" wide and 7.5" deep slot port would be the same volume as the 3" dia 7.5" long tube thanks for the help

My first thought is that the port would be too thin, I'd try for at least 1.5" tall or 2" if possible. 1" might work fine, I haven't tried it but it seems you might get some port noise with that thin of a slot.

I might be wrong, that's just what came to mind.

yeah i hear ya 1.4 x 5 is the same area i think. this makes me want to think about not doing a slot port after all. i'm already losing tuning adjusting with a permenant slot port.
