Finally!!!
DVDfile reported in their news section, that Sister Act will be coming out Nov 6TH in 16x9 5.1 It will also include a making of featurette.
And supposidly it will be sold by itself or WITH Sister Act 2.

Bummer everyone,
in case you haven't discovered, the new Sister Act DVD is *not* anamorphic.
It is 5.1, and the audio is "cleaner" than the LD (there was some distortion or overload on some of the choral numbers on the LD).
The image is beautiful...cleaner and more detailed than the LD could do, but it looks like they used the same overal transfer and now we're just seeing the D-1 more closely that was the ancestor of the LD as well.
The image really is quite good. Using the digital zoom on my 16x9 TV it looked as good as many "average to good" quality 16x9 titles. But still...it would have been 33% better than it looks right now!!!
