Simpson defective status? (1 Viewer)

A friend of mine complains that his set of Simpsons first season sometimes freezes and pixelate on his Toshiba 3109 (firmware 3.0 which is the latest available). I have the same player but have not yet opened my copy.
What is the status of this DVD set? Is it confirmed to be a bad pressing or is it only individual copies that are buggy? I did a search on the forum and could not really find any new info about this.

Well, it plays fine on my player and many others, so I'm guessing it's either a problem with your friend's specific model or a bad batch at the local store where you live.

There were a lot of bad copies. Just search on the forum for the thread on that. I sent mine back to Amazon for a replacement. Haven't had time yet to thoroughly check the new set but I did notice that the problem I was having on one of the Disc 1 episodes doesn't occur now.
