In windows apps, when you go to FILE>Open (or save or whatever)- you get a common windows dialog box. Along the left side are some standard locations you might need (recent, my docs, my comp, network places, etc).

In Win 2000, FAVORITES was listed there, and seemingly in WinXP it is no longer listed. Does anyone know where this is configured or how I can change it to get faves back on the list?

i've always thought it depends on the app?

in windows media player, i see: my recent docs, desktop, my docs, my computer, my network.

in excel i see: history, my docs, desktop, faves, my network.

so it seems, even within ms apps, it's inconsistent???
