Should I go 5.1, 6.1 or 7,1 Surround (1 Viewer)

How much source material is available in 6.1 and 7.1 surround sound? Is it worth going with 6.1 or 7.1 surround or should I just stick with 5.1?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Very little, if any . . . but that's not the point.

Your receiver will use its technology to create 7.1 from any 5.1 source. Much of the choice comes down to your budget and your room layout and size.
