Just get the Advanced AV Pack, a standard s-video cable and a standard optical cable. You should be able to get those items for about $40. Save your money, forget Monster.

Doesn't the Advanced AV Pack come with a S-video cable? The HD Pack comes with all but the optical.

yes, the microsoft Advanced AV pack does come with an s-video cable. however, let me know what you guys think about what i picked up tonight.
Microsoft Advanced AV Pack, $20
Acoustics Research S-video/Toslink Optical Cable, $35
should this be a reasonable package?
i definitely did not want to spend too much on monster cables.
now to figure out how to connect it to my Pioneer VSX-D811S receiver.
:)

Get the cheapest optical cable you can find. It's been a while since I last bought one but I'm sure you can find one for less than $35. Pairing an expensive cable with your X Box would be like putting Nascar performance tires on my '88 Daytona.

I got my 6' toslink cable for $5.99 at Funcloand (in PS2 packaging).
www.buy.com has excellent prices on AR cables with free shipping.

i guess i'm just a sucker at best buy?
:frowning:
well, i know they're a ripoff... but i didn't think
it was bad to get a set of s-video AND toslink optical
for $35. if i had purchased them separately, it would have been $20 and $25 each.
i'll look around.
thanks for the tips.

David don't worry, that's still a deal imo. I honestly would have opted for the $12.99 Recoton toslink cable also at Best Buy but $35 for 2 name brand cables is pretty good.
