ANY news at all for an upcoming re-release of Repulsion in R1?
I'm considering importing the UK Anchor Bay disc, but I've just been holding out hope that something better might surface with a true restoration fitting for this movie...
The MAR'd Canadian version that I picked up last year looks like absolute shit; like an ugly video transfer from 6th generation elements taken off some scratched up VHS transfer of a recording sourced from youtube off some guy's 1980 Macintosh computer monitor.
Should I just import the damn thing, or is there any hope yet for a decent R1 edition to surface in the near future? Does anyone even know who the current rights sit with over here and is it one of the major studios?
Get it. Its very good looking picture given the source, a tad dark, but sharp and unusually blemish free for a film its age. Amazon.uk wants a whopping £17.00 for it! There are Amazon marketplace sellers who have it at £6.50
Is 16:9 PLUS optional 5.1 DTS!! 100 mins There is an audio commentary with Polanski and Denueve, a documentry about the film and a few other goodies It also has a really nice little 6-page booklet with many lovely photos of Catherine, and a lot of text describing the film and shooting. Im not one to quote about such things but it looks framed at about 1:75...?
The logo at the start is a 'Compton Films' whatever clues that might give, Sorry to hear about the wasted cash.
