Receiver suggestions for another newbie (1 Viewer)

Hello folks,

I've recently entered the market to upgrade my HTS in my bedroom. Right now I'm using an old AIWA mini system with its two original surround sound speakers. The bedroom measures roughly 11.5' x 16.5'.

I've already purchased the JBL SCS136SI speakers, which for me, seems to be enough for a room that size.

However, I'm not sure about a receiver. What do you recommend for a $500 budget? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Check out the Pioneer vsx-1014. Its a great reciever for the money (~ $500 or so) and is the same reciever as the elite vsx-52 (~ $800). I got one last week and am very pleased with it so far.

You can also get a Yamaha HTR-5790 or RX-V1400 for about $500.
