hi all,

after doing some reading and research i have narrowed down my choices for my first home theater setup to the following

H/K AVR-230 (possibly a refurb'd AVR-225 due to funds)
JBL NSP1 OR Klipsch Quintets
Dayton 10" sub

the goal was to stay under $1000. this setup should put at around $800 with $200 left over for cables, stands, etc. this system is going to be serving 50/50 duty for movies and music. room size will be about 17'x14'

i just found out that i might be able to get a refurb'd AVR-320 for under $300. my question is would it be worth it to get this unit instead of the two listed above? would it be too much receiver for a first time setup and the speakers i have chosen? any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks,
dave

I'd say go for the 320....

You can never have to much receiever.

I don't have any experience with either of those speakers or that sub.

But the 320 is a great feature packed AVR for sure.
