Any new news on a region 1 release date of John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness on DVD?

I thought I read something, somewhere, about new r1 releases of both this and They Live, but I'm sorry I cant recall where. I had to break down and get the pal 2 discs...just cant wait any longer.

I have not heard any news, but here are reviews of the two UK Carpenter releases. From what I hear, these suppliments were done by a European studio so they may not be on any eventual US release.

You could always look for the OOP Image version. It's pretty decent, I'm pretty happy with it.

I've always wondered about this one. The Region 1 DVD is a mess. I think this film would benefit greatly with a new transfer.

Found my R1 Prince of Darkness for 7$ Canadian in a used store after it went OOP
Wish I had the same luck with They Live though. I might buy a region free player just because of the R2 version of those 2 movies.

The Region 1 DVD is a mess.

How so? I think the anamorphic transfer is fairly good for an early Image release.
