I was looking at the Philips flat scree Tv at a local store (model 27RF50S). Anyone have experience with this set or with the Philips brand in general? Do they make good, reliable products? Is there a better choice as far as a 27 inch TV? Thanks.

I have had good success with Philips. I have a 27" for the bedroom that I have had for over a year and have had zero problems. After extensive searching, I finally settled on their 32" Flat Screen - 32PT81S. The combination of features including a 16:9 mode, component inputs, and A/V outputs was a big factor for me. After playing several DVD's like Fight Club, Toy Story, and Unbreakable, I have fallen in love with this set.
Once I get it installed into the home entertainment system this weekend, I'll really run it through its paces.
