I was just reminded tonight that, due to the WTC tragedy, along with all the other misery, there are also now many single-owner pets in the tri-state area who are most probably orphaned. There are also pets who had to be abandoned because of the evacuations in lower Manhattan.
I know that many of us here are pet owners. If you're interested in donating to help support and find new homes for these pets, the ASPCA has set up a page on their web site http://www.aspca.org . Petco is also accepting donations.
Obviously, the support efforts for the many human victims of this tragedy should be first and foremost. I just wanted to post this in case there were any other members who had not thought of this additional situation and might wish to donate to it as well.
