Onkyo TXSR 600 Connection issue (1 Viewer)

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I just bought the above mentioned receiver. I have connected the receiver to my TV via a S-video cable from the "monitor out". When I hook up my XBOX to the reciever and place the receiver to the appropriate channel, I get the sound but the screen only displays the OSD but no xbox screen. The xbox is connected via the standard A/V cables that came with the xbox. I appreciate anyone's help.

so you have the xbox connected to the receiver with a composite rca cable? that is your problem then. that onkyo will not upconvert signals. you will either have to hook a composite cable from the receiver to the tv as well, or hook the xbox to the receiver with an s-vid cable.
