I am soo sad that Sex and the City is over! I'm a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker. I was wondering what she had been doing since SATC and i just found out that she will be the voice in a new Disney cartoon film called "Home on the Range" Saw the preview and it looks really funny and cute. Wonder if her baby had anythign to do with her wanting to do a cartoon.

Anyways, I am sure her cartoon character will not be supporting Manoloas, but this film will be fun!!

I didn't recognize her in the cast. Jessica Tilly was great. Fromer Texas Governor Ann Richards does well with a small role.

The film itself is mildly diverting. Great songs, great score, great characters, great vocal performances, terrible screenplay. You'll laugh out loud a few times, but this is nowhere near Emperor's New Groove in the yuks department (it's not spoiling things to say that Patrick Warburton makes a funny cameo towards the last act). The songs are all aces. I can't get the main theme out of my head (curse you and your catchy tunes, Alan Menken!) The "yodel song" sung by Randy Quaid has to be heard to be believed. Think "Gaston" from Beauty and the Beast mixed with "Hee Haw" and a 4th of July Parade. The best song is delivered by Bonnie Raitt, in a moment that strongly echoes "Not in Nottingham" from Robin Hood (rain, sad faces, no hope, you get the picture).

Given the strength of the music, this could have been a very good film, but no film is better than its script...other than porn and ninja movies.

I doubt anyone has noticed, but Home on the Range was the #1 movie in America, Monday 4/12 - Thursday 4/15.

Ernest, just wondered where and how you came to know so much about animation. Do you work in the industry, just been a fan for many years, or both? Curious about your background.
