I think close to 90 discs a month is good. September may be showing a lagged effect from the Harry Fox royalty arrangements.
But the month is not over so the "11" count could also go to approx. "90". Stephen' site may get late notification from some small (or large) labels. This is roughly 3 new releases every day. That's pretty good for a niche format.
September is an incomplete data point on other words.
The '11' count is almost certainly incomplete and probably just takes into acct. the very beginning of Sept. Elusive Disc shows '33' SACDs coming between Sept. 14 and Sept. 28. Some could get pushed back as has happened with a bunch of hi-rez titles.
The way classical rolls out on SA-CD I'd be amazed if the final count went too far below the average. It's a great time to be a classical fan. 11 might be a good estimate for the number of rock/pop/kuntry releases for the month...?
The link is to the number of titles added to sa-cd.net during each of the months. Since the site track almost all titles being released worldwide, the chart linked gives an indication to the number of new releases each month. Today, September 1st, there're 11 new titles added (hey, 2 new Sony releases!!)
sa-cd.net hasn't included the upcoming Elton John, Carpenters, or the rumored Moody Blues titles in its total.
