would it be wiser to purchase this unit or wait for the replacement unit. Anyone want to hazard a guess about the changes/upgrades for its replacement?

Probably newer AKM ADCs & DACs, refinement of the MCACC(version 3), and maybe a little more processing power would be my my guesses.

As far as to wait or buy a 45TX, it's the age-old dilemma in consumer electronics: You'll be able to get a great deal as they close out the old model or pay more for the new one. You might want to wait and see if it's really worth paying more for the replacement. For example, there wasn't as much difference between the Denon 3801 & 3802 as there was between the 3802 & 3803.

Hopefully, there will still be some 45s left by the time they announce the replacement so you can pick one up if you don't deem it worth the extra money for the new model.
