I am picking up a 7 channel amp(probably an outlaw) and was wondering if I should by amp my NHT 2.5i. I will be running the HT as a 5.1 system and my sub is a SVS SB12 Plus/2. Is this a bad idea? Can the NHT handle the power?(they are rated at 200w) My preamp is a Outlaw 990. I won't be using an external crossover if I do this. I would be using the bass management in my preamp.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

Are those speakers bi-ampable? You can only do it if they are designed for it. Also, you don't use bass management for bi-amping. I would research more about what bi-amping is and how it is done before continuing or you could destroy some equipment.

Yes, they are bi-ampable. What I meant by using the bass management of receiver is I would cross over the 8" subwoofer at 80 hz, so the woofer wouldn't be running full range.

Thanks..
