New HT won't decode correctly (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this is not the right place to post this:

I just bought a Sony HT and it's all set up, except that it won't decode in 5.1 or DTS. In 5.1 it simply uses R L SW and it won't play anything in DTS at all. The coaxial is connected between the receiver and the DVD player and I ran a test tone so all the speakers are connected correctly. I don't know why it won't decode. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually you have to set it up in the DVD menu. You might check your settings there and see if that does anything.
