The reason why I only nominated Ivan the Terrible, Part I was because I haven't seen Part II yet. Nevertheless, even though the three parts were supposed to be one large film, the difference in time that Eisenstein worked on it suggests to me that even if Part II is as excellent as Part I, they should be considered separate.

You're right, of course. Certainly, if we're to hold the Lord of the Rings films--shot simulataneously--to that standard, that should also apply to the Ivan films.
