Thanks Patrick, I was actually considering unnominating Whity since I figured it was my least likely nom to make it in.

I can't imagine anyone seeing Code Unknown and not being blown away by the cinematography, but the "seen it" part of the equation is probably what's missing.

I still have a 2nd which I'm considering using for Far From Heaven, but I'm going to hold just to see what else pops up.

Steve, thanks for seconding In The Bedroom, though I doubt it will go very far. There is a sequence just after the wake
with a series of vignettes and almost no dialog, that is about my favorite of everything I have seen from last year. I know, it is as much editing and story planning as cinematography, but all this stuff is. I also like the sequences during the funeral and wake
almost as much.

I also like the fact that there is virtually no soundtrack in this film.

No problem. I thought the film was very good, but strangely enough, I can't imagine wanting to watch it again. Ever get that feeling?

Yeah. I had the same feeling, but I still bought it and have watched twice since.

So, let the games begin!

Did anyone view/tape Duel in the Sun yesterday on TCM? If so, why are you teasing me by temporarily withholding your second of my nom? ;)
Abstain (No Punch-Drunk Love)
Abstain (No Fight Club)
Great Expectations (Guy Green)
Nominations
The Sea Wolf, 1941 (Sol Polito)
The Innocents, 1961 (Freddie Francis)
Seconds
Ivan the Terrible, part I, 1942 (Eduard Tisse, Andrei Moskvin)
I suppose, actually, both parts of the film could qualify as one nom, as the planned installments were designed to finally coagulate as one film (part III was never filmed)? What do you think, Rain?
