The new SOTL on MGM is available in 2 versions 1.78 & P&S. My question is,since the 1.78 version
is Matted (Hard or Soft Matte?) Is the P&S version really OPEN MATTE? Therefore nothing is lost on the sides just more top and bottom on the P&S version? I am a champion of W I D E S C R E E N! So NO flames please!

MGM has usually provided a choice between P&S and Widescreen. I believe both will be present here. Previous Versions have all been non-anamorphic including the recently out of print "Criterion Edition" which I own. The new version promises a Brand new Tranfer with dd 5.1 mix and a few extras that previous editions did not have. I'll hang on to my Criterion just the same.
