I think the X0 project, when it been finished, will be the BEST version of the original Star Wars movies.

As long as people want the original Star Wars, the LD (in good shape), CDV & VHS will have value.

Wonder how the LD LPCM sound will hold up against lossless HD sound? It will be fun to find out SOON!!!

I think SPR was the last new-release LD I ever bought. At the time, there was still a release window between rental VHS/LD and the DVD release, so I bit the bullet and purchased the LD, knowing I'd be getting the DVD a few months later. That LD is still one of the best pieces in my collection...

I have a few hundred LDs still and I have found the sonic experience, regardless of sound processing, to be vastly superior to their DVD counterpart. That is one of the reasons why they are still in my collection.

Tim,
When I bought mine there wasn't a release date on the DVD. It wasn't even announced yet. IIRC I had the LD for over a year prior to it being released on DVD.
