Is there a way to configure my Receiver and TV so I can continue to watch the game while playing music from another input? New 4K box no optical audio

Yes. That was the basic idea.

I must have just gotten lucky the first time I set it up. I reached out to Sony support and they say the only way is to use zone 2 or zone 3. Am I losing any sound quality when I run the optical cable from the TV to the receiver instead of HDMI’s to the receiver and ARC to the TV
