I know what it is for San Diego county ($330,000 if you must know) but I would like to know what it is nationwide. If there is a number where would I typically find it?

Look for the median price in the SF Bay Area. You will likely never complain again...(hint: it's just under double that figure).

Actually the median is $340K for San Diego. Have a look here: California Association of Realtors
Yep! It's pretty high for the Bay area.
$147,500 is lower than I thought it would be. Does that number take into account new and existing home sales?

I so love it that in some towns here in Minnesota most houses still sell for quite a bit less then $75,000... but the closer you to to the Twin Cities the price goes up and up :)

heh...Brian you're still a good hour away from downtown Minneapolis. I hope to buy a house actually in Minneapolis someday...it ain't going to be a cakewalk.
