I bought ID4 on DVD recently, and have already watched it a couple of times. Great entertainment, but oh man is it stupid.
Either way, I'd like a sequel, but have no clue where they'd take it to top the first one. Maybe more dealings inside a mothership or something would be cool.

there is a book that appears to be out of print, that is a prequal of sorts.
it takes place starting with the space ship crashing at roswel with dr okun as the main lead.
i read the first half or so and it is pretty good.
