I picking up a set of B&W SCM1's to use as side speakers in a 7.1 configuration. I have 2 rows of seating. Should I place the side speaker centered, slightly infront of or slightly behind the first row of seats? I was thinking of placing them 2' above ear level when sitting.

suggestions?

side surrounds right? ive tried centering them with the listening position and putting them back a couple feet. personally i think slightly behind the listening position, about 2 or 3 ft creates sound that better surrounds you. are you going to have rear speakers also? if yes then the sides could be pushed forward more.

Yes I am going to have rear surrounds.
I researched places online (like dolby.com) but they only show diagrams/placement for one row of seating. I figured I would get suggestions from people that have multiple rows of seating to see what they have found to work best for them.
