Because Gamefan, while well written and well put together, was published by incompetent morons. It never hit the shelves on punctual basis around here (around here including Kansas City...hardly a rural area), and both of my attempts to subscribe (one in which I paid up front) were met with no magazines whatsoever. I sent money up front for the second attempt, after having them tell me that they had changed "fulfillment houses" and were now on track. Hope they enjoyed my $20. Like I said, great magazine, but their publisher I believe may have consisted of a handful of retarded chimps in an office building.

Famitsu just lost all credibility in my book.
The article states that Gamepro linked with Famitsu, not the other way around. That means that Gamepro gets some much needed good content in their news section, while Famitsu gets a fat check. I didn't see a mention of any action figure licensing deals, or any other thing that might lead you to believe that Famitsu is losing credibility.

You guys must think this announcment meant they swapped writing staffs or something. I agree, Gamepro is utter garbage. I get a free sub, and just recieved their JULY 2002 issue. It had the same content that my April 2002 EGM had. The issue was a little thinner than my TV Guide. Their magazine survives on their excellent brand recognition.

Masood, Famitsu's hyped as being a 'super cool', 'super hardcore' magazine in Japan. The Japanese gameplayers I know treat it pretty much like we in the US treat GamePro. That's where the humour in them linking up with GamePro comes from.
