Hi guys,
I've seen a few DUMAX spec sheets and am moderately familiar with the information they present, but does anyone have a link or any information on how they actually do the testing? TIA,
Mark

DUMAX derived T/S parameters are calculated by physically measuring a drivers mechanical suspension compliance, motor strength and electrical properties in a sophisticated testing apparatus, rather than the more conventional method of calculating the T/S numbers from an impedance curve.
Also, the key non-linearities Bl and Cms, are measured at up to 51 points throughout the entire range of travel and graphed. These parameters are used to help the manufacturer optimize a driver's performance at little or no cost in tooling. For further info regarding DUMAX testing, see Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, Vol 45, No. 3, march,1997 or contact DLC directly at 248-305-5534 or email at [email protected] or [email protected]
