How did Gilmore Girls season one sell? (1 Viewer)

My wife loves this show and is hoping for more seasons... she devoured the first season I bought her, but I haven't been able to find any news at all on whether a season two seems likely, or when that might be.

Any guesses?

Anecdotal evidence has it selling out at a lot of shops for Mother's Day gifts, and very well in general. I'd expect Season 2 sooner rather than later.
