With a 14x20' room I think 5.1 is plenty. How about this system. It's price is dropping so what could be wrong with it?? I mainly want to enhance the audio on HD TV stations along with DVD's. I'm on a $500 budget so am I getting the most bang for the buck with this?? Thanks again for all your advice!

It looks like last years model and these are often a few hundred off which is why you see the price drop.

It looks like a decent unit as long as the sub is self powered.

This gives you lots of upgrade paths later on, but will serve you well for Movies and TV right now.

Thanks! Now do you all suggest the HTS894 or the HTSR800 besides the obvious 7.1 vs. 5.1. How much difference in the speakers, receiver, etc.??
And please explain to me why everyone is so worried about the pass through HDMI. Will it hurt the sound quality at all or is it just an issue for multiple components??
