With the success of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean it might be wise to start working on a DVD release of your classic pirate films. ;)

My most wanted are:

FOX
The Black Swan

Warner
Captain Blood
The Sea Hawk

Strike while the irons hot! :D

Jim,
I believe Warner is already working on the dvd releases for both "Captain Blood" and "The Sea Hawk".

What Mr. Crawford states is very likely so...

Also, obviously Warner made a wise bet thinking that "Pirate films would be in vogue" at the moment, since they released several great swashbucklers a week ago (or so) including THE CRIMSON PIRATE with Burt Lancaster.

The older titles likely need full restoration, hence their unavailability at the moment.

THE BLACK SWAN would be a terrific addition to the genre.

THE BLACK SWAN would be a terrific addition to the genre,
but then so would A HIGH WIND IN JAMAICA, which Fox has completely ignored. Gorgeous 2.35:1 adventure directed by Alexander Mackendrick and starring Anthony Quinn and James Coburn.

I request FOX do a region 1 "The Pirate Movie" (1982) Widescreen version (unlike the barebones P&S R4 version).

The Buccaneer (1938 or 1958 version) would also be nice, these are from Paramount I believe...
