HDTV Direct TV in Canada (1 Viewer)

Is anyone using the HDTV DirecTV receiver in Canada? I want to know if it will produce a 1080i signal. I have the Sony 400q projector and this is the only option available to me I blieve. I am also wondering how much the receiver costs an so on.

It's not illegal to use -- it's illegal for DirecTV to broadcast, in theory. This is why you can't get a DirecTV subscription to a Canadian address.
