Hdmi beginners query (1 Viewer)

Hi gang..
Just about to order a Sony Vpl Hs20. I was planning on using a DVD player with component out for PAL/NTSC Progressive. But would i be better off buying a HDMI DVD player (namely Pioneer 686) and using that instead. Is there a verynoticeable difference between component and HDMI.

Reports have went both ways... It seems to vary from setup to setup between the two.

In theory, yes, it should be better....
