Yeah, I think the only award it didn't win was Lead Actress. The other four were two double-noms and a triple. I was semi-surprised that it won all the multi-noms.

How fast did the new ticket release sell out? I was kinda thinking about it. (Side note: I paid around $165/ seat for fifth row dead center to Spider-Man a few years back, and that took a lot of gumption. Now it seems the good seats for EVERY show are $200! :( Do they still have the TKTS booth in Times Square?)

I LOVE the idea of Hamilton. Making important information about the founders accessible and enjoyable for our youth. Much like 1776 did in its day.

But I just cannot get past my dislike for the music (the entire hiphop genre). I've tried. I've listened. I watched the Tony's. I've seen other clips/performances of the show. I could never sit through it.

I'm pretty open-minded about music...so I'm totally putting all this on me. I really want to like the show and would then want to see the show someday. But I can't...so I won't.

The situation between me and Hamilton kinda eats at me a little bit.

But I don't like opera either. So it's in good company! :D

I'm with you all the way. I'm a Musical Theatre ennthusiast and Hamilton has just been announced for London but there's no way I'm going near it. It's bad enough overhearing that stuff from cars going down my road and when I'm working on the second floor (that's third floor in US language) the house shakes.

However, I do respect and enjoy the overpowering musicality of great opera.

I can't get into the music either. I guess I probably am a musical snob. I basically only listen to classical music (including opera) and Sinatra. I don't even listen to rock anymore. Musically, I am just not in touch with most of today's pop culture.

Oh. I try, David. And often succeed. I like many of the young female artists out there right now: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry at the top of my list.

But I guess I can only take that so far.

I'm not into Hip-Hop as a general rule, but I do enjoy the Hamilton music. It's not just rap.

Same here. I saw IN THE HEIGHTS (which likewise has some "regular" music) and found it palatable enough the first time. Listening to the CD a couple of times, then seeing an absolutely stupendous high school production of it, clinched it for me. So, someday, I will see HAMILTON. There's no rush, and God knows I've got plenty to spend money on in the meantime. Obviously, it will be there when I'm ready for it.

We finally made it!

Nephew and I both loved it, he hadn't heard more than 3-4 of the songs. Loved king George.

2pm wednesday matinee = a TON of understudies tho, which was kind of a bummer. Especially after getting hosed by most of the original cast moving on immediately after we sold these tickets. I was fine with seeing Javier Munoz but when he AND the Burr are both replaced by their alternates? Very frustrating.

We had mezzanine seats and they were perfectly fine. I'd love to use my other set of tickets and go back again in 2 weeks to sit in 13th row but I think honestly it might actually weaken the experience we had this week. So those are listed for resale and I'll put the proceeds into very needed HT upgrades =) If I had had the $900 seats first it would have been a different story...[/URL]
