Desslar, that seem like a good comparison.

You mean the tag? I remember watching the afternoon reruns on CBS when I was in grade school and probably having seen the original broadcast thinking that it was a different episode because it ended differently. At that age, it never occurred to me that they would actually CUT the episode! The naivete of youth. A few years later Norman Lear had his name removed from All in the Family afternoon reruns on CBS when they edited the episodes. Today, even though the episodes may be edited, the tags are usually left in.I paid the price point because I made the mistake of thinking Paramount had secured the Full episode clearances for Episodes where the last Act is cut. Gomer untraiftns a dog being one.
How about a Beetle Bailey comic book cover, for I've seen some in Google images!
Sad to read that Elizabeth MacRae has passed away.

so I know this Is an old post I'm replying to but I can happily say that I now have 2 out the 3 episodes listed in this post in great quality with the missing music/scenes very very happy about that anyone that's curious can ask me about it but what I'd like to know and if anyone can confirm what seems to be missing in the episode of Gomer says "Hey" to the president? all I see is several minutes seem to have been cut can anyone confirm or deny this please thank you so muchThe major cuts were evident in the following episodes:
Gomer Untrains a Dog
Lou-Ann Poovie Sings Again
Gomer Says “Hey” to the President (several minutes seem to have been cut)
There may be minor edits to other episodes as well. If someone in the episode even sang a line or two of a song, it may have been removed due to licensing rights of whatever song.
This happened with Laverne & Shirley too. In an episode where Richard Moll makes an appearance, you see him walk into the scene and but the scene fades to black pretty quickly. So they removed an entire chunk from that scene (dialogue and all) because of a song (I believe it was "Ebb Tide"). It destroyed the continuity of the episode on dvd because they had set up a joke earlier involving the electrical sunroof. It ends up cutting to the house all cleaned up. Very badly edited.
With a run time of 22:36, it's pretty clear material has been removed from GOMER SAYS HEY TO THE PRESIDENT. As to what exactly, I can't say.so I know this Is an old post I'm replying to but I can happily say that I now have 2 out the 3 episodes listed in this post in great quality with the missing music/scenes very very happy about that anyone that's curious can ask me about it but what I'd like to know and if anyone can confirm what seems to be missing in the episode of Gomer says "Hey" to the president? all I see is several minutes seem to have been cut can anyone confirm or deny this please thank you so much
