Just saw that the original BBC Forsyte Saga is getting a new VHS box set release 3rd sept. anyone know if there is a DVD planed I would love to see this on DVD.

I heard rumours that they were planning a release in R2(the FS was phenomenally popular in Britain when first aired) some time ago, but since then, nothing. However, there is a new version of FS being filmed currently by a Brit commercial channel, which, given the recent track record of such things, will almost certainly be released on DVD.
