Ran across this in the classified section of the SF Chronicle which is one of the stranger things I've seen
(Rommel's Half Track was the other thing I consider as strange as this about 15 years ago)

METEORITE My 10 pound black diamond Meteorite has been drastically reduced! Now $200K. This is the rarest rock in the world! Call Ray, xxx xxx xxxx 4 for picture & story.

If I had an extra 200k lying around I would think of other things to buy but I guess it makes a good conversation piece

"Hey Baby come home with me and check out my metorite????
It's as hard as black Diamond"
(If I was a chick I would be there!)

10 pounds??

That thing would have done a huge amount of damage if it hit a home.

I was wondering how you would know it's real or a scam.

I heard on a history channel program people buy and trsde them but research facilities are the big buyers and I doubt they would spend $200k
