DVR / Tivo connect to a PC? (1 Viewer)

First time poster.
We are always recording shows for later viewing and recently we have been recording some SciFi shows for a relative that does not have SciFi. We have Insight Cable.

With all the above in mind I have 2 questions:
Will DVRs / Tivo record mulitple channels at once?
Are any DVRs / Tivo designed to be connected to a computer? Even with a 100hours that some DVRs handle I would like to be able to offload shows from the DVR to a PC.
