DVD/VCR Combo Units - What are the Compromises? (1 Viewer)

I haven't had a VCR for about 2 yrs and need another DVD player to back up my Denon, which seems to need regular repairs.

Anyone have any informed opinions about these combo units? I assume there are some compromises but are they decent units? thx

I've found Go Video combo products to be very good

However, with any combo, repair can be a pain, and you'll have to pay those extra labor charges

They're REALLY missing the boat by not having D-VHS capability in any of these.
