dvd player recomendations for around $800.00 or under (1 Viewer)

I need a dvd player in this price range (or under) that can do dvd, dvd-a, dvdr/rw, sacd, cd, cdr/rw. What are my options?

Denon DVD-2200 is your best bet, its under $600 and handlea everything on your list with excellent quality.

For that money, you could get the Denon 2900. Both Denons have great picture quality. I feel the 2900 sounds exellent on dvd-audio and sacd and is a decent player on cds. The built quality on the 2900 is great and the layer changes are undetactable. I like this unit and since my HD-TV does not have a digital input, It will be my main unit until I buy a new tv.

i agree, i would go with the denon. You can play BOTH DVD-audio/SACD which is a BIG plus. Not sure how much of a difference you will get between the 2200-to the 2900.

Good Guys or Tweeter retail stores carry the Denon models. The DVD-2900 is higher around $999, so I recommended the cheaper similar DVD-2200 since you wanted under $800, around $599.

Todd, I got my 2900 for $800.00 at an authorized dealer here in Miami, maybe you can get it close to that where you live. I've also heard nothing but good things about the 2200. The 2200 may be the way to go in your case.
