If I will be using a DVD player for a lot more audio CDs (including those I burn myself) than for video DVDs right now am I better served by purchasing a DVD player with a coaxial audio output jack rather than the optical jack?
My Panasonic audio receiver (SA-HE70K) has both inputs.

Would I notice that much of an audio difference in quality when playing the CDs through the DVD player?

Thanks.

Using a coax or optical cable would mean you'd be using the DAC's in your receiver. The dvd player becomes a transport. As to which is better ie: coax or optical... most people will say it doesn't matter, their both digital. I prefer coax because it's a sturdier cable.
