Yup, whenever a director has second thoughts about a film that has already been released, it's never good news for the audience, who don't seem to matter at all (but it is where the money comes from). There's this, & the extended green & dark Fellowship Of The Ring, the oh so dark Last Of The Mohicans, or when somebody does it for them, the yellow Good The Bad & The Ugly.

Loved the look in the theater marvelous color.
The old pan and scan laser had less color than the film.

However,the desaturated look was NOT new to the dvd. The letterbox laser looked the same./
