i have an epik conquest subwoofer with a low pass filter and a nht controller (pre) with a digital low pass filter. it states in nht's owners manual to always use the controllers digital low pass over the subs low pass filter. my question is if i use the digital low pass filter should i turn the frequency knob on the subwoofer to its highest setting (150) and flip the toggle switch from crossover to LFE? i know i could probably figure this out through trial and error but dont want to cause any damage to my equipment in the process.
-thanks

Flipping the toggle switch on the Epik should remove the sub's internal crossover from the signal path so it doesn't matter what that crossover is set to. You are correct that in most cases it is best to let the signal processer handle the bass management duties.
