Denon AVR 1506? (1 Viewer)

Hey all, since I cant find a H/K AVR 235 for a good price, I was looking at the Denon AVR 1506. I can get one for around $320. Is this a good reciever? Seems like a good price since MSRP is $349.

Any other recievers you would suggest that are under $350?

Costco is selling the AVR1705 for $269 if I remember correctly. I assume the 1506 is a newer model that replace the 1505 but the 1705 seems like a better deal. I think the HKAVR235 should be compared to something like a 1905.

Darn never thought to look at costco. Do they sell H/K?

They used to have some low end HK speakers. Receivers, not a chance!

Before you decide on those entry level Denon or even HK receivers, make sure you don't have inefficient speakers. Entry level receivers typically don't have pre-outs. That precludes the option of adding an external amplifier in the future when you need more power.
