Damaged my Sub? (1 Viewer)

I just got a new receiver. I was not paying attention during setup. I connected my sub to the LINE IN (Stupid). When I powered up the receiver a very loud sound came from my Sub. Can this damage the Sub. I think it sounds flat now.

Probably not. Was it like a 60Hz sound?
