Who was the hottie, murderous blonde? I've seen her before in something else, but can't remember.

Grissom is looking like the Will Graham character from "Manhunter" when Petersen did that movie, almost 20 years ago.

Good opening 2-parter. Now both Catherine and Nick have to figure out what to do with their gaffes that make it easier for perps to walk.

What Nick did could have made (or did make) the killer(s) change their M.O., which makes it harder to track them down. Also, it makes it harder to corroborate testimony if someone comes forward that isn't the real killer and doesn't really know the details of the case.

She was a hottie! I checked around and couldn't find a complete list of guest stars. The only woman listed was Nichole Hiltz who was one of the hot alien babes from "Dude Where's My Car? She played Natasha Rifkin (the couple in the opening scene). There was a Moon Bloodgood listed, but I can't tell if that's a man or a woman. :D IMDB had little listed for Moon.

I thought the same thing. Notice the new credits show him with the beard.

Maybe this is a setup for a story about cannibals in a casino,

has there ever been an espisode where the killer wasnt ever shown til the very end of the show???? How does Grissom continue to get strippers and dominatrixes to try and give him the business. Is it the beard??

heh, that's what I was thinking. However, he didn't have a beard last year so it wasn't that. Maybe it's written into his contract. :p)

Good solid episode. I thought it was weird that Nick said something to his old HS buddy. To me, it stuck out in my mind as something you wouldn't do at all. doofus. Oh well, it will be interesting to see how they deal with those gaffes.

Ya that struck me as a little too irresponsible/out of charecter especially when the parking guy had the whole surfer dude thing going.

Overall a solid season opener. CBS sure has a great thursday night lineup.

It could be the 4th couple that was with the 3rd couple that was arrested and then killed at the end.

Great first episode. CSI has not slacked off and somehow keeps getting better. Loved Gil's new look, and how they handled the matter of his ear surgery, letting us know it was very successful without dwelling on it more than necessary.

As for ratings, the show came in on top with 26.6 million viewers.

So is anyone convinced of Grissom's explanation of how the killers get the guy in each couple to kill his partner? I'm not that convinced his explanation make perfect sense.

I believe the killers are the "couple that got away" and described the M.O. to Grissom and Brass. That seems to make the most sense at this point. They would know what the police think is the M.O. and change it accordingly. Fits the "hide in plain sight" method of avoiding detection.

As far as who dunnit?

I saw a trailer yesterday that leads you to believe a member of the Police force is involved.
